Since 1998, Polyplastics has practiced self-regulation in line with the ISO 14001 environmental management system with regard to chemical substances in our products. In our List of Environmentally Impacting Substances, we identify substances that have the potential to impact the environment or human health and safety, and we use this list in conjunction with the following three assessments in carrying out environmental management.
This is a list of substances that are potentially harmful according to various national laws and regulations.
Creation of the List of Environmentally Impacting Substances
underlying the assessment system
Procurement Assessment | We have centralized control over raw materials purchasing, and we ask all raw material suppliers to submit data for any chemical substance that is included on the List of Environmentally Impacting Substances. |

Product Assessment |
We use the data obtained in procurement assessment to calculate the total chemical content of all raw materials at the product design stage. The product will be redesigned if any value exceeds the self-imposed limits set forth in our List of Environmentally Impacting Substances or if the product contains prohibited substances. In addition, the "Management System for Contained Chemical Substances" clearly defines the role of each department in managing the contained chemical substances subject to product assessment and also clarifies the responsibility and authority of the person responsible for managing contained chemical substances. In this system, we investigate requirements when various new chemical substances laws and regulations are enacted or revised and conform to the requirements of the countries and regions where our products are distributed. |
ColorantAssessment | We provide the List of Environmentally Impacting Substances to subcontractors who manufacture coloring products so that they can perform identification and control with regard to colorants and other chemical substances contained in their products. |
We issue Safety Data Sheet (SDS) and a range of certificates to ensure our products can be used safely by our customers. In addition, we also promptly respond to inquiries regarding the content of regulated chemical substances and environmentally hazardous substances contained in our products.
